High School Basketball recruit receives three-year prison sentence

Tony Farmer, 18 year-old senior at Garfield high school, receives a three-year prison sentence. He is going to be in prison for three years because he is guilty of robbing, kidnapping and felonious assault. He kidnapped his ex-girlfriend. He grabbed her by her hair and took her outside and took her car keys, bank card and cellphone. He also was charged for sending threatening text messages and voicemails to her.

Alex Schwazer was banned for using drugs. He is relieved he is banned because he said and I quote “I couldn’t take it anymore.” Alex was caught blood doping.  He said in a press conference that he was glad he was caught using this illegal substance. He said that he is not made to take drugs or deceive people and yet he did.  He got caught doing this a day after he won the gold medal once again.

Marion Jones’ was known as “queen of the track” she was on top of the world, or so she felt she was. She wanted to go higher. She wanted to do this by choosing the wrong. She cheated and lied to agencies. She lied her way to success and this is choosing the wrong. Choosing the wrong comes with consequences, she has to serve a 6 month sentence for her use of steroids.

Summary: The grandparents of the girl, who is now 9, locked her up in the restroom for 6 years. She was only allowed to come out to go to school.  They started locking her up in the restroom since she was 3 years old because they thought her behavior wasn’t acceptable. The girl got examined by a psychologist and she said that that was normal behavior for a 3 year old. Brian G. Hart and Rivae L. Hart are now in jail. They were both charged with kidnapping and third-degree felony child endangering. Rivae is the maternal grandmother of the girl and her 8 year old brother.

What I think: I don’t think this makes any sense. I don’t find any good reason for these people to have done such a cruel thing to a young girl like this. She was just 3 years old and they locked her in the restroom. I don’t think this was a right thing to do. If they wanted to discipline her they should have talked to her first. She was a little girl and she didn’t know what she was doing.

I think this is sick. People shouldn’t do this to innocent horses. Trainers like Jackie McConnell have tortured animals for a long time now and this need to stop. The poor horses don’t deserve this. They are putting them through all that pain because they want to win a dumb ribbon. Cheating is not the answer. Cheating doesn’t take you nowhere and sooner or later you get caught like Mr. McConnell. Jackie McConnell had no remorse he didn’t feel bad for nothing he did. Now he is facing federal indictment. Many rich horse-owners went to Jackie to have prize winning horse. But was it really worth it? Hurting an innocent creature like that.

REFLECTION: What Mr. Haymore is trying to say is that when you are choosing the right you can’t be choosing the wrong as well. You must only follow one path, either the bad one (darkness) or the good one (light). When you choose the right you are choosing light when you are choosing the wrong you are choosing the darkness. What he means by can’t occupy the same space at the same time Mr. Haymore is trying to say you can’t be doing good if you’re doing something bad.
