Reflection: What Thomas Carlyle is trying to say that a man needs to have a goal to run like a ship needs a rudder to sail. When you don’t have goals for life well than you don’t have a reason to keep going and you’re not doing nothing with your life. You have to have goals so you can accomplish things in life.

Reflection: What Mr. Arnold Glasgow is trying to say is that you won’t get far in life unless you know where you going. You need to have direction. For example, in football you get far sometimes because you know where you want to get the ball to go. So think about where you want to go in life so you can get far.
